Job Summary

This position provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Relevant Skills:

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Additional Minimum Job Qualifications

Education/Work Experience:

1. BSN preferred.
2. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
3. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
4. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
5. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Completion of an approved OR residency OR minimum of 1 year previous OR experience. If assigned to the Gig Harbor Same Day Surgery (SDS) facility, related work experience in a free-standing surgery center is preferred.

Job Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of AORN (American Operating Room Nurses) standards
• Knowledge and experience with critical patients, airway management and anesthetic agents
• Ability to work with Perioperative instrumentation and equipment
• Knowledge of sterile/aseptic technique Licensure/Certification CNOR (Certified Nurse of the Operating Room) preferred
